Memorial Portrait: Bring Back People Who Are Gone Forever

“Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.”

And it is memories that death can never touch. Memories wrapped in a memorial portrait!

Can we really bring back people that are gone?

All those wonderful memories that you cherished?

When your father looked deep into your mother’s eyes, or when your silly brother dropped the entire ice cream on himself.

Perhaps when your little doggo went berserk on the beach.

A memorial portrait can hold it all.

It is unfair how life takes away people before we can have enough of them.

But with a memorial portrait from photo, we can, for once, relive all those past memories.

Remembering your loved ones and keeping their humor uppity-up in creative ways can fill the void in your heart.

A handmade memorial painting can heal your pain and make the person’s presence felt.

At PortraitFlip, we help our community to ease the sorrow and ingeniously honor a deceased loved one.

If you are looking for a way to remember your loved ones just the way they were, a memorial portrait can not fail you.

I would like to introduce you to our community that either got themselves or gifted a memorial portrait as the first step towards the healing process.

1. Everything You Could Ask For And So Much More

“Simple amazing what they do and breath taking. I lost my super hero (grandfather) back in May of last year and my loving grandmother lost her best friend, her life time partner of 45 years, and her other half. I ask to simply make a photo she would never get. (She got that and so much more) I have the 3 great grandchild… sadly it was hard. He meet the 2 oldest but was hard to get photo with as the ages go between 7-1 years old. (Also oldest is autistic and doesn’t like photo all the time). I just received it today after ordering it on the 29th 😭💯❤️ it is breath taking and prefect…my words can’t not discribe how happy and over the moon I am with this painting.”

Chantel Lindle

Chantel lost her grandfather, who meant the world to her, in 2019. Her grandfather met the other two older great-grandchildren but couldn’t meet the third one.

She wanted to gift her grandmother a memorial portrait of her grandfather with all three great-grandchildren.

In spite of not having good quality photos, team PortraitFlip made sure that the artwork includes everything needed to make this a wonderful experience for Chantel and her grandmother.

We also tried to include an ash-pendant of her grandfather which Chantel dearly wanted to be a part of the portrait.

And, we did it.

A memorial portrait from photo for Chantel to hold onto the hero of her life.

Grandparents are the most vulnerable and indispensable part of every person’s life.

It is often difficult to fill up the emptiness when they leave but a handmade memorial painting can definitely bring the essence of them and give you strength.

2. Best Of Best!!

“I was absolutely thrilled with this memorial painting. A portrait of my parents with their 5 grandchildren. Due to my father’s health we never got chance click a family picture together. PortraitFlip was very understanding. My mother got a rare kind of ALS and doctor said that details on clothes could stimulate it. I conveyed this to them and they changed the color of every one’s clothes into ALS friendly colors. Thank you PortraitFlip for making this memory possible. 😍”

Kristen Fitzpatrick
Photo to memorial portrait of 8 characters.

Kristen came to us with a request to merge multiple photos in a handmade memorial portrait.

It was for her mother who never got to have a family portrait of all her grandchildren with their grandparents.

All we asked was for pictures of all the characters Kristen wanted to include in the artwork.

But it came with a little condition – Kristen’s mother has a rare ALS which needed ALS-friendly colors so that it doesn’t aggravate.

We did, what we had to do and created a memorial portrait from photos.

It is not easy to get over a partner’s demise.

But a memorial portrait can make the healing better.

I am sure Kristen’s mother will shed a tear of joy every time she looks at this memorial painting.

3. Brought Happy Tears!!!

“This painting turned out absolutely PERFECT!!! I had in mind what I was looking for: A picture of my mother-in-law with her brother that passed away unexpectedly. She hadn’t seen him since he was 13…he passed away at 49. She never got the chance to see him again. This painting made it look like they were in the same picture, hugging and smiling. The communication from the team was very impressive! Sent me an email with the file (Photoshop) before getting started. I made a couple minor edits (color suggestion for a shirt and remove a strap off the other shirt). They re-did it and it was PERFECT!! I cried when I saw it. My MIL absolutely LOVED IT TOO!!! It brought her so much joy to see them together, at last. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Artist was INCREDIBLE, office team was very prompt, delivery was flawless. You will not be disappointed!!”

Ashton Moukalled
Photo to memorial portrait of a woman and an old man.

In this fast pace world, people often forget their near and dear ones.

And in a fraction, they lose them.

Ashton’s mother-in-law didn’t meet her brother for almost 13 years after losing him to heaven.

But when Ashton gifted her a handmade memorial painting, she felt as if her brother was with her.

She wasn’t gifted just a portrait but a moment that she will cherish for a lifetime.

It brought her absolute delight to finally (even in a handmade artwork) be able to be with her brother.

A memorial portrait from photo may not be the ideal gift but it has the power to make ends meet, emotions erupt, and honor a person you may not be able to see again.

4. We Miss My Dad So Much But The Painting Has Brought Him Back

“I had a vision in my head of my Dad, who died almost 2 years ago, with all of the family dogs (deceased and alive) – especially because he was the kind of Dad who would say he didn’t want a dog. And then once we got the dog, it then became Dad’s dog. I wanted to have a picture or painting to give to my Mom that would bring love and warmth back in our house again that we seem to have lost after losing Dad. I sent all the pictures in, not knowing if they would be able to create a painting with all of them. But they did. It was perfect. The detail the artist achieved with my Dad and the dogs is amazing. Absolutely nailed it. My mom was brought to tears seeing them all together. Especially my Dad. We miss him so much and nothing will bring him back. But now we’re at least able to see his bright, loving smile every day again. I don’t know how I’ll ever top this present to my mom.”

Kirsten Marcussen
An oil memorial portrait of an old man with three dogs sitting on a sofa.

“A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.”

And it breaks one’s heart to see that guiding light fade.

Something similar happened to Kirsten after her father left the family.

It was for months her mom and she felt a void around the house but then Kirsten decided to get a memorial portrait of her dad.

It may not have gotten her dad back to life, but it has definitely made a huge difference in their lives.

The grief of a parent’s loss can make a child go haywire, but a memorial painting can give them the strength to carry on.

PortraitFlip tried to bring back the guiding light in their life and now if not in person, they can see him smiling through a memorial painting on canvas.

5. This Painting Meant A lot To Me And My Wife

“This painting meant a lot to me and my wife her mom passed away when my wife was 12 years old we got married in August 01,2020 and she wished her mom could have been there. This gift right here means a lot to my wife and to me also. When we first started talking she took me up to her mothers grave and I told her mom “That I would take care of her daughter and love her with all my heart.” Emilee always talks about her mom. Emilee is following in her mother’s footsteps as a children’s minster. I do wish her mom was at the wedding so I made this painting for Emilee to always cherish and to know that her mom will always be with her.”

Trey Manning

Trey came to use with a thought to make his wife’s Christmas the best.

His wife missed her mother on the day of their wedding and to make her presence felt, Trey wanted us to paint a memorial painting.

We made sure that his wife feels wholesome.

The portrait was of her wedding day with her mother standing beside her.

It is wonderful to be able to make someone genuinely happy.

Losing a mother, the pillar of strength can be hard for most people.

But a memorial portrait painting can bring back so much of life.
