About PortraitFlip

1. What does PortraitFlip do?

PortraitFlip has set out to change the experience of gifting by creating memories through art. Our services allow you to convert your photographs into 100% handmade painting across a variety of themes and mediums by real artists.

2. Where are you based in?

PortraitFlip is a US-based company that regularly ships across the world with our artists based in USA, India, China, Indonesia and Canada.

3. What services do you offer?

PortraitFlip offers a range of services including handmade painting from different photos, photo restored painting, black and white to color and royal portraits.

4. What mediums do you have?

PortraitFlip offers a range of six mediums – Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Charcoal, Pencil and Colored Pencil.

Turnaround/Shipping

1. What is your turnaround time?

Free Delivery Service: With this service you can receive the painting within 24-26 days. It take 15-17 days for our artist to create your vision and the next 10 days to be delivered. There are no additional or hidden charges applicable on Free Delivery Service.

Express Service: Express Service can be availed by paying an additional 20% of your order value with the promise to reach you within 14-16 days. The first 10-12 days go in creating your artwork and the next 5 days for your painting to be delivered.
*Please note that the delivery is based on when you approve the order.

2. Do you ship globally? What are the charges?

Yes, we deliver across the globe at no additional cost if you opt for the Free Delivery Service.

3. Can you deliver on a specific date?

If you have a specific date in mind, write to us with the help of the chat widget on the bottom left corner with your date specified. Our solution expert will get back to you and let you know if the delivery is available for the date.

4. Do you ship to APO, FPO or PO Boxes?

Due to the size of the product, we do not ship to APO, FPO or PO Boxes.

5. How do I know if my order is shipped?

You will receive an email with your tracking link as soon as your order is shipped. You can follow the tracking link to check the transit of your artwork.

6. Is my artwork safely packed?

Our sole motive is to reach you the artwork with absolute precaution. To make sure safe delivery, the artwork is wrapped in multiple hard layering with a note that says “Fragile”. You can watch how our artwork is Rolled, Framed and Gallery Wrapped.

7. My order is delayed in transit. What to do?

In case your order is stuck in transit, you can write and e-mail to us at support@portraitflip.com and we will try to escalate the process. However, if your artwork is stuck in the customs, most likely it takes two additional days to progress.

8. My order was lost in shipping. What to do?

In case of theft or loss of your artwork during shipping, you can write to us at support@portraitflip.com and we will have a new artwork repainted for you to reach you on priority.

Portrait Prices & Payments

1. How much does a portrait painting cost?

The starting price of portrait painting at PortraitFlip is $60. However, the price depends on the size, medium and number of characters. To have a better idea, you can look up our Pricing Page.

2. What are the charges for customizations?

We do not charge anything extra for customizations or any kind of modification that your painting needs.

3. Are there any hidden costs?

No, you have to pay the exact price as quoted on the Pricing Page for your order. However, adding a frame and/or an upgraded shipping may attract additional charges.

4. What method of payment do you accept?

We accept all Credit and Debit Card payment through Stripe.

5. Do you accept international Credit Card?

Yes, we accept all kinds of credit card.

6. Is COD available?

No, we do not provide cash on delivery.

7. Do you have a customized payment plan?

We do not have a customized plan for the deposit. However, you can pay the rest 70% in instalments. To avail for it, all you have to do is write an email to support@portraitflip.com stating your request.

8. Can I use two different cards to make the payment?

Yes, you can use two different cards to pay the 30% and 70% payment respectively.

9. When can I pay the second half for my artwork?

You can pay the second half of the payment once you have received the preview of the final painting and approved of it.  

10. Can I buy a gift card?

Yes, you can buy a gift card here.

Order Process

1. What is the best medium for my photos?

All are mediums are equally great but our customer’s favorite has remained Oil Portraits.

2. What is the smallest canvas size that I can customize?

The smallest canvas size that we offer is 8×8. Place an order with 12×12 and leave your custom size in the suggestion box. We will have it done for you.

3. Can I order a custom size?

Yes, you can definitely order a custom size. To do so, add the closest size to your desired size and leave your requirement in the suggestion box. We will make sure you receive the size of your choice.

4. Where can I get the frame?

You can select the finishing option after placing your order by going to your dashboard. Click on the “Edit” button and get a frame in add-on services.
*Please note that you can only avail this service upto 4 days of placing your order or until the photoshop approval. Kindly go through our Finishing Option Page before choosing your fancy.

5. Where can I apply the coupon code?

You can apply the coupon code on the top bar at the checkout.

6. What is Timelapse Service?

PortraitFlip’s Timelapse Service lets you watch the process of your painting from beginning to end. You can either add the Timelapse Service while placing your order or to by editing your order  from the dashboard after you have placed the order.
*Please note that you can only avail this service upto 4 days of placing your order or until the photoshop approval.  

7. I cannot upload the photo. Help!

Due to the heaviness of the file size or format, chances are that you might not be able to upload your photo. No worries, you can place the order by uploading a random image and email us the desired photos at support@portraitflip.com and we will upload it with your order.

8. Can I view the painting before you ship it?

Absolutely! We only begin the shipping process after you have previewed the final painting and approved of it.

9. What should I keep in mind while uploading the photos?

The photos that come out the best are the ones which are of high quality, well lighted with front profile. It helps our artist create an organic and detailed artwork.

10. What if my photo is damaged or not of high quality?

Don’t worry! You can still get a handmade painting made. Just place your order and our designer will restore the photo for you.

11. What are the maximum number of character that you can paint?

There is no limit to the number of characters but you can only select up to 10 character on the website. You can place the order by writing to us at support@portraitflip.com if it involves more than 10 characters.

12. Can’t upload more than 15 photos.

PortraitFlip bars its customer from uploading more than 15 photos. If you have more than 15 pictures, you can email the rest of them to support@portraitflip.com after placing the order.

Photo Editing & Painting Process

1. What is photo editing?

All the photos submitted by you goes through a photo editing phase where the images are cropped to size or modified according to the requirements of the customer. The edited photo is then sent to the customer for approval before starting the painting process.

2. Can you create family painting from different photos?

Yes, with our Compilation Portraits, one can get a painting made of characters from different photographs.

3. Do you offer revisions on painting?

We provide revisions during both photo editing and painting stages. These revisions are unlimited and free of additional charges.

4. Can I choose a background for my painting?

Most definitely. You can either attached your choice of background while placing the order, choose from the options we have or let us know the kind of background you would like to use and we will have it incorporated in the painting.  

5. Do you cater to special editing requests?

PortraitFlip believes in creating the vision of the customer. You tell us your idea and we will have it done. So yes, we do cater to special editing requests.

Artist

1. Who are your artists?

Our artists are based across the world depending upon their expertise. They come from countries like India, China, Indonesia, Canada and some part of the USA.

2. Can I choose my artist?

Unfortunately, you cannot choose an artist. Nonetheless, we make sure that your artwork goes to an artist that is a master in the medium.

3. Will the artist sign my painting?

Our artists do not sign the painting. However, if you want, we can have it signed as a special request for you. Just let us know in the suggest box and It will be done.

4. How to convey changes to the artists?

You can convey the changes to the artist by simply replying to the same email thread where you received the preview. We will have each bit of your suggestion communicated to the artist.

5. Is the artwork painted on canvas or paper?

Mediums like Oil and Acrylic is painted on a high-quality canvas paper and mediums like Pencil, Charcoal, Color Pencil and Watercolor is painted on paper.

Refund & Return Policy

1. What is your refund policy?

We provide a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not satisfied by the painting in spite of availing revisions, you can ask for a 100% refund by simply writing to us at support@portraitflip.com.

2. What is your return policy?

If you do not like the painting after it reached you, you can escalate a return in exchange of a 100% refund policy within 15 days of receiving the product. Read our detailed Return Policy.

3. How long does it take to credit refund?

It takes 4-5 business days for us to initiate and credit the refund. If you do not receive the refund within 3-4 days, feel free to write to us or start a chart with the widget in the bottom left corner.

4. I am returning a painting that was bought through gift card. Where will my money credit?

Once the return is initiated, you will receive the credits on your gift card itself.

General Questions

1. How can I pay the second part of the order?

You can pay the second part of the order by logging into your account and clicking on the “Pay” button in front of your order.

2. Why can I not edit my order?

You can only “edit” i.e. buy add-on services up to 4 days of placing your order or until your photoshop is approved. If you want to “edit” the order post that, you will have to request for the same by writing an email to us.

3. From where can I log in?

You can log in to your account by simply clicking here.

4. What is the status of my order?

You can write an email to us on support@portraitflip.com to know the status of your order. 

5. My question is not answered in the FAQ.

If you questions are not answered here, you can chat with our customer service representative by using the chat widget at the left bottom corner. You can also alternatively write an email to us on support@portraitflip.com.

6. Do you offer discounts on bulk order?

Yes, we do offer discounts on bulk order. Write an email to us and we will have the best discount given to you.

7. Do you have a number I can call at?

Unfortunately, we do not have telephonic services available at this point. Nevertheless, you can either use the 24×7 chat widget on the bottom left corner of the screen, leave an email to us on support@portraitflip.com, or raise a ticket on Contact Us Page.

8. Is my private information protected?

We can understand your concerns regarding privacy. However, please be assured that PortraitFlip uses secured servers and all your information is strongly protected. You can read more about this on our Privacy Policy page.
