PortraitFlip’s most in-demand product — the oil painting is a must-try for wedding portraits.
To show the world what our artists can do to your photos with just a canvas and oil paints is priceless.
As we always say “don’t stop with just a photo”, and our customers listen.
After your wedding day, the outfits, theme of your wedding, the wedding china, the flowers, and the décor, all play a visual menagerie of the day.
What after the big day?
All that extensive planning, plotting comes to fruit and then goes to waste?
Not if PortraitFlip is in that picture.
We want you to reminisce about your wedding day for life.
That’s not going to happen if the wedding album has been shelved somewhere.
Admit it — you’d rather just point to your oh so beautiful wedding painting framed equally beautifully when a guest asks “I heard you got married, how was your wedding?”
That gorgeous wall accent in the form of your captivating wedding portrait is going to be your conversation starter.
Take a look at PortraitFlip’s top 25 favorite wedding portraits.
They have the most beautiful stories behind them that we just cannot get over.
Keep reading to know why homes need wedding paintings.
25. The Beauty Of Simplicity
Enrique Uribe wanted to capture his wife’s beauty from their wedding day and frame it for life.
He sent us way too many pictures to choose from and we settled on this magnifique piece.
Her ethereal beauty drips through the painting.
The lengths we went through to get even the most minute detail in this oil painting for his wife were worth it.
Although she had the most minimalistic attire on, considering it was her wedding, it was enough.
Our artists managed to capture the intricate lacework on her wedding gown.
The simple background made her the center of attention.
We heard this painting now hangs in their living room wall with a spotlight.
24. Elegance At Its Best
We love to get personal with our customers and hear the stories they have to tell about each photo that gets converted into a painting.
Roberta’s family hails from India where they lost many good memories in a house fire.
Even her parent’s wedding photos.
She wanted to do something special for their golden wedding anniversary and handed us this photo.
So naturally, we asked, “Roberta, why this photo”?
She replied saying,” My dad always talks to mom about the times they spent in India, especially the time after their wedding”.
Then added,” and mom loves to do little things that make him reminisce about those days”.
“Mom would go lengths to find a bouquet of Tuberose flowers (Rajanigandha) when he spoke about them”.
Roberta added, “I had this very old photo that my grandmother passed on to me, that surprisingly my parents didn’t know about”.
And voila a grandeur painting came through.
She thanked us so much because her parents could not believe she pulled this off.
We know we are doing something right when we get to see their reactions.
Suggestions: Watch more of our customer’s heartfelt reactions.
23. A Lovely Photo
We at PortraitFlip swear by ‘just because’ wedding paintings from photos.
When our customers tell us that this photo is so good it deserves to be converted into a full-blown painting, we hear it.
But what happens when they ask us to convert the wedding photo to the biggest painting size we had to offer.
Traditionally the biggest size is meant for 10 or more people in a single frame.
This was a first in the history of PortraitFlip and we couldn’t say no, really after knowing how special this day was for the bride.
She mentioned to us that she was just so glad that she found her now-husband.
We didn’t ask anything further; we just knew we had to get this done and delivered to her.
Which we did and she was equally thankful about it.
22. A Beautiful Fall Wedding
Ahhh, weddings in fall…
Jessica and Adam got married in the fall of 2020 just as the restrictions opened up.
They couldn’t wait any longer to tie the knot and what better season to be your backset than fall.
“The day was so beautiful it felt like it belonged to us as if we were meant to get married that day”, Jessica said.
And so, they did.
The pictures reminded her of just how beautiful that day was and that’s how she knew.
I couldn’t decide which service to go for as there are so many companies that do wedding portrait paintings.
Just like the wedding was meant to happen, PortraitFlip happened too.
She said, “the fact that I could trust them with my wedding portrait from the beginning to the end is what I loved the most”.
“And it was the most beautiful day and you guys captured the essence of it to the T”.
If you are reading this Jessica, thank you for trusting us, we are glad you loved the painting.
21. Taco Was There
Luna reached out to us in a state of distraught after Taco, her beloved pupper crossed the rainbow bridge.
That too, 2 days after the wedding.
She didn’t think much about it until on her 2-year anniversary she came across the photo in her old cell.
A coincidence? We think not. Taco we know it was you.
She didn’t want to take a chance in losing the only picture she had with him on her special day.
We are not crying, you are crying.
Luna just wanted to remember him as he was, an angel.
She wanted to make a wedding portrait out of the photo and hang it on the wall.
It’s crazy to think how much we love our pets that we can do anything to cherish them.
I’d like to add 2 lines John Grogan wrote about Marley in his famous blogs: “Love may never end, but friendships do, sometimes by death…”
20. Mom Would Kill Me
Parents are the most important part of your wedding.
Some people get to experience that and some don’t.
What can you do about it?
PortraitFlip came up with the concept of compilation portraits to help you include your loved ones in an image if they couldn’t be there.
It is one of our most asked for services.
Especially among people who have lost their loved ones and wanted them to be there on their special day.
Tori wished her mom could see her get married to the best man she would have loved.
She wanted to have a photo of herself with her parents.
While other companies turned her down, we embraced the challenge.
Lo and behold.
We remember her laughing with tears in her eyes saying,” mom would kill me if she ever saw this because she is wearing pants on my wedding day”.
And to Tori, we say, “She was there, wasn’t she”?
It was one of our most successful and heartfelt wedding portraits to date.
19. The Grand Indian Wedding
The custom wedding portrait speaks for itself more than I can tell you.
Priya and Rohan got married in a grand-style Indian wedding in Rajasthan.
The love that shines through the painting is undeniable.
They really wanted to capture the ethos of their special day and lock it forever on a canvas.
This is one of the most special and first wedding portraits we did that was all the way from India.
Rohan and Priya loved every bit of the wedding painting but their love surely did conquer the canvas.
18. Daddy’s Girl
Gina is clearly a daddy’s girl.
Always have been, always will be.
Clicked in 1989, found in 2021.
There is just something about coming across camera reels, holding them against the light, and trying to figure the negative out.
Something similar happened with Gina until she got the reel developed.
It turned out to be the most cherished picture she could ever have come across, her wedding day.
“She broke down because she was just missing him the night before”, said David, her husband.
“It was as if he was trying to show her that he was close”, he added.
Who by the way got the painting made as a surprise for her?
David told her how Gina’s dad was the happiest he’s ever been on her wedding day.
This was one of the most adorable wedding portraits we’ve made with such a pure and adorable story.
We are glad you loved the painting of your wedding photo, Gina.
17. A Moment That Could Have Been
This past year has been tough on everyone.
Some more than the others. People have lost their loved ones throughout this difficult time.
Jeremy lost both his parents last year and they couldn’t see him marry the love of his life.
“Jeremy would have been twice as happy if they were around”, said Aliyah.
“I really want him to feel that they were despite it all”, she added.
Aliyah really put her trust in us to make one of the best wedding portraits that included both their parents
We did, indeed.
From what we heard; Jeremy was over the moon when he saw the wedding painting from photos.
He couldn’t stop thanking Aliyah enough.
Jeremy if you are seeing this, we are so glad you loved the painting, it made us equally happy too.
16. His Leg Popped
“I swear I thought it was a myth till I kissed Erica”, said John.
To catch you up, he was talking about the leg popping.
Erica couldn’t let go of this photo, she turned to me and asked me to do something with it because she wasn’t going to hang just a picture.
So, the only thing John could think of was turning it into an image blanket or a beautifully painted canvas.
He obviously chose the canvas because clearly, he wasn’t afraid to show everyone how in love he is.
This was one of the cutest wedding portraits PortraitFlip has ever made and that is why it has made it to our top 25 list.
By the way John, it’s nothing to be ashamed about.
15. She Means The World To Me
Jason and Nonna got married in January 2021, to mark the beginning of the new year and their new life.
“I was supposed to marry her in January 2020, but as soon as the news of flu started the hopes started fading”, Jason told us.
That’s when they decided to get married the moment they met, no matter the place or time.
“Washington DC was our only hope because it’s equal distance from our places”, said Nonna.
The moment they met in their wedding outfits their friends clicked this picture.
Nonna heard her friend say, “This picture deserves to be framed”.
“I wanted to go the extra mile and get it painted, the empty canvas would represent our life after we got married”, Nonna added.
Nonna said we captured the feeling she felt in the wedding portrait just like she felt on that day.
“Every time I look at my custom wedding portrait, the butterflies fly right back, I am so glad I got it made”
I think all women can relate to this when I say — being kissed on the forehead is something else.
I know it’s too cliche when we see wedding photos that have this pose included in them.
Not when you look at Tilly and Josh, this was one of the best wedding portraits just because of her smile.
I mean a seriously good forehead kiss cannot get better than this one.
From her smile to being kissed by the sun and Josh, we couldn’t find a reason why it shouldn’t be one of the top 25 wedding portraits.
When we asked why this picture Tilly said, “I wanted to treasure that moment, the feeling Josh gave me, the feeling of finally marrying him, and to top it off the lighting was perfect”.
A beautiful picture indeed, our artists enjoyed painting it too.
13. A Fairytale In New York
Allison and Travis met in New York where they studied in the same college.
They recreated their wedding kiss and My Oh My.
We were flabbergasted by the details done by our artists of her outfit.
Travis wanted to surprise Allison for their 6 month wedding anniversary, and we thought it was absolutely adorable.
The dip and kiss pose was the highlight of their wedding ceremony.
“That was the moment I never wanted to forget”, Travis told us and wanted to reminisce that moment forever through a wedding painting from a photo.
This wedding portrait screams love.
At least I personally feel so that is why it’s one of PortraitFlip’s top wedding portraits.
12. A Vision In Pink
Priyanka looked breath-taking on her wedding day in a pink and silver lehenga.
Her sister wanted a wedding day painting of her that complimented the pink lehenga with cherry blossom trees.
She got this wedding painting from a photo that had a completely different background.
“She loves pink, clearly you can see with her choice of lehenga, I want to surprise her with this portrait so she can live her dream”, said her sister.
The dream? It was to get married between cherry blossoms in spring.
I guess now she will at least have lived a piece of the dream, if not the entire one.
Priyanka not only loved it, but we heard she tells the story of how she got married a bit differently to people who never got to attend it.
The wedding painting helps a lot in the story.
Ahem, I hope none of them read this blog.
11. The Vintage Wedding
The headdress, the gown, the brides curled fringes with loose curls, even the lilies yell vintage wedding.
Carina’s mom wanted a masterpiece to complete her home that she just redecorated.
She always told Carina that she wanted a unique piece to complete her wall.
“I didn’t want her to hang something that everyone has or can have, I wanted it to be as unique as she is, so I thought why not her wedding portrait”, said Carina.
She then got her mother’s wedding photo converted into one of our most prized wedding portraits.
The elegance and grace the painting brings through are spectacular.
At first glance, you would not even think it’s a painting. We are so proud of our artists.
10. Vintage Bride
The moment Sarah Johnson sent us this picture of her mom in her wedding gown, we were blown away.
The photo was worn, torn, and in a very bad shape.
The moment we suggested that she should get a black and white painting done instead of a colored portrait she loved the idea.
Sarah, who was very close to her mom, wanted to preserve her mom’s fond memories.
The kind of attention the veil got was mind-blowing.
“It looks just like her picture, I love it. Wish she could see it”, Sarah said after she received it within a week of placing the order.
Beautiful project it indeed was Sarah, we are sure she would have loved it.
She wanted the painting done in time for her mom’s birthday and we couldn’t say no.
We actually never do.
9. The Evergreen Couple
Who said you only have to get married once?
Other than traditions of course!!!
Caitlynn was so proud of her mom to have the courage to get married again.
Wedding photos are all posed and poised but the candid are the ones that capture the real people.
She took this picture in her cell phone but couldn’t enlarge it as the quality wasn’t good enough.
“I am so glad I signed up for PortraitFlip’s newsletter, it was as if they knew I needed them”, laughed Caitlynn.
“I instantly got a portrait done to show my mom that I Love and Support her”, she added.
Her mom really loved the painting we heard.
8. It Was The Most Beautiful Sunset
When you get married you want to remember the day, the time, the color of the sky, and the look on your S. O’s face, forever.
Brian and Dina wanted to do just that.
To remember that day was only for them, the skies changed colors only for them, and even the sunset for them.
This intensity on a canvas is rarely known because people just eye and appreciate it.
These love birds wanted to frame themselves with the most beautiful sunset they had ever seen in the form of their wedding painting.
They wanted to give this beautiful portrait painting to one another.
We cannot see why not!
7. The Way You Look Tonight
“She’s a huge Frank Sinatra fan, and this picture fits perfectly with the song we played for our first dance”, said Eric as he handed us a photo from his wedding to Emily.
Eric wanted to give Emily something special before they came back from their honeymoon.
PortraitFlip did not fail to deliver, sparing plenty of time for Jason (Eric’s brother) to get the wedding painting from a photo framed and placed in their home.
Legend has it that Emily still has no idea how Eric managed to get the painting made.
And frame it…
And hang it in their home…
While on a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
You wouldn’t know Emily.
6. To My Daughter
A father and a daughter’s relationship is the most beautiful thing in the world.
George was our eldest customer to date.
He wanted to do something nice for his daughter on her birthday and being old school at heart he gave her a painting instead of framing a photo for her.
When we tried to reach him to get an update on how his daughter reacted to his gift.
We found out that George passed away just a few days after his daughter’s birthday.
His daughter was very happy and said that the custom wedding portrait was his last gift to her.
When giving her the gift George told her, “Honey some days ago you asked me when I was the happiest, your wedding was it”.
He gave his daughter this gift and told her that this day was the day he was the happiest.
We love being part of such heartfelt stories and creating even beautiful memories in the form of wedding portraits.
5. Father Daughter Dance
A father-daughter dance is something so emotional and memorable for both fathers and daughters.
Linda wanted to give a memorable portrait to her husband because he missed his daughter too much.
Yes, it’s a thing.
When she came across this picture of them having their moment during the father-daughter dance she knew what gift she should give him.
She got the photo converted into an oil painting.
Apparently, Linda’s husband is a great admirer of art.
She really wanted to surprise him and indeed she did with this custom wedding portrait.
Linda if you are reading this, we are so glad you sent us this photo, it is one of our best wedding portraits.
4. We Two, Our Two
For many people, their furry lovers are their families.
Despite being the reason that Jess and Andy met, Laila and Benji couldn’t make it to the wedding.
Dog parks, who would’ve known that that’s where someone could find their forever?
“I wish they were here today to see us get married”, said Jess in a sorrowful tone.
After digging a little we found out that Laila and Benji passed away before Jess and Andy got married.
“We really want to include them in a beautiful wedding photo that we have, can you guys, do it?”, Jess asked.
15 days later they received their one-of-a-kind portrait of them and their fur babies.
It was by far one of the cutest compilation wedding portraits that we have done.
Compiling portraits is a PortraitFlip specialty.

3. A Love Like No Other
Just as you lay your eyes on the painting you know how in love these two are.
To be in love even when you grow old is rare.
Every hurdle that love crosses must be celebrated. In a grand way.
On their 40th wedding anniversary, these two love birds wanted to do something special.
They decided to get married again in an old-fashioned way and frame their wedding photo.
This has to be one of the most adorable wedding portraits we have ever painted.
To be a part of such a beautiful and undying love was our honor.
The painting really shows love like no other.
2. The Gorgeous Bride
A girl starts dreaming about the day she is going to get married, the first time she puts a pillowcase on her head pretending it’s her veil.
She always dreams about the shape of her dress, the lacework, her neckline, the details, and the train.
Adrianne knew what her wedding was going to be like since she was 16.
“I knew I was going to wear my mom’s dress, so she could be with me in spirit”, said Adrianne.
She wanted to capture this moment for life and what better to do it with than an oil painting of the wedding dress.
Giving yourself a gift is the utmost way of showing yourself self-love.
We love it when people get a painting of themselves.
This tiny act of self-indulgence is known as “self-giving” and we wholeheartedly encourage it!
Now you know why this is in the top 3 of our favorite wedding portraits.
For everyone was created in pairs — and sometimes you just know.
There are many reasons why this beautiful artwork sits on top of our favorite wedding portraits.
Daniel and Lorey’s famous wedding painting is still our most favorite art to date.
It looks so surreal and right out of a storybook.
The love and passion behind the painting can be seen without even knowing the backstory.
Lorey said, “There is not one image in my phone gallery that describes our love more than this one, and I want to capture it eternally”.
Lorey if you are reading this, your couple portrait sure does give us major couple goals.
A couple’s portrait, that is yet to be replaced and dethroned.
Do you think your wedding portrait can be PortraitFlip’s next ideal couple portrait?
